On August 26, the "Heart Power, New Growth" Mental Health Empowerment Project for Women in Emerging Fields — hosted by the Zhejiang Women's Federation, co-organized by the Zhejiang Women and Children's Foundation and the Taizhou Municipal Women's Federation, and undertaken by the Hangzhou Women's Activity Center — was warmly launched in Sanmen County. More than 30 female livestreamers from various townships across Sanmen County gathered at the event for a soul-nourishing session of self-reflection and stress relief.
Going deep into the county’s grassroots, this event precisely targeted local rural female livestreamers. Adopting a dual-track model of "theoretical guidance + group experience", it delivers professional mental health services directly to women working in emerging fields. The initiative seeks to truly understand their difficulties and address their concerns — ensuring that the care from the "women's federation family" reaches them precisely and touches their hearts.
A Warm Kick-off: Listening to the Truest Voices of Our Sisters
The event kicked off with a heartfelt sharing from a participant representative. Peng Jieyu, chairperson of the Sanmen County Village Livestream Women's Federation, spoke from personal experience about the joys and hardships of being a female livestreamer — the motivation and joy of helping fellow villagers sell products and increase their income, alongside the strain and fatigue of staying alert in front of the camera and feeling physically and mentally exhausted after wrapping up livestreams. She shared that she rarely had the chance to learn stress management techniques, and that she was especially looking forward to expert guidance, chatting with fellow sisters, and learning from each other, so that she could bring this "inner strength" back and inspire more rural livestreamers to grow together. This candid sharing from "one of our own" voiced the innermost feelings of the livestreamer sisters, filling the entire event with warmth and resonance from the very beginning.
Making Peace with Stress: From "Understanding Emotions" to "Knowing Ourselves"
Adopting the service philosophy of "small-group format, deep interaction", the event featured two core sessions: theoretical guidance and group counseling. Progressing step by step from cognition to experience, it helped participants build inner psychological strength.
In the expert lecture session, Zhang Xiaoxian, associate professor and master's supervisor of the Department of Psychology, Jing Hengyi School of Education, Hangzhou Normal University, delivered an "emotional stress-relief package" titled "How to Coexist with Stress: From Resistance to Acceptance". With professional psychological knowledge, real-life cases closely related to the livestreaming workplace, and simple, practical adjustment methods, she guided participants to understand their emotions, accept themselves, and manage stress scientifically — completing a cognitive shift from "fighting against stress" to "coexisting with stress".
Afterwards, Tong Ling, founder of Xinhang Psychology Studio and holder of a master's degree in applied psychology, led participants in the "OH Cards as Mirror, Mindfulness as Boat — Female Livestreamers' OH Card Growth and Healing Salon ". Through immersive experiences such as card exploration, a safe and inclusive space for self-expression was created. Participants set aside their professional identities, voiced the worries pent up inside them, and released long-accumulated mental exhaustion through mutual listening and empathetic companionship, rediscovering the hidden confidence and strength within themselves. One participant shared: "I'm always busy taking care of business and family. Today I finally got a chance to slow down and see myself — it turns out there's so much untapped strength inside me. "
At the close of the event, participants summarized their gains and shared reflections, and a follow-up communication group was established — allowing the warmth to extend from the venue into their daily lives.
Starting from the "Heart ", Striding Toward the "New "
This mental health empowerment event is a vivid county-level implementation of the "Zhejiang Warm New Action" launched by the Zhejiang Women’s Federation. From "a single event" to "ongoing companionship", from "one-time empowerment" to "sustained growth", women's federations at all levels across the province will continue to integrate resources and build platforms, delivering solid and meticulous guidance, services and outreach to women in emerging fields, and continuously boosting their sense of happiness and fulfillment.
