This October witnessed the convening of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, bringing the global spotlight back to China. The grand event crystallized international consensus and charted a new blueprint for the global advancement of women, marking a pivotal milestone in the history of the international women's movement. We take great pride in the remarkable Zhejiang elements on display at this global event. Join us for a recap of the highlights.

On-Site Splendor: Multi-Dimensional Presentation of Digital Achievements

Over ten initiatives from Zhejiang province, including the Digital Trade and Women's Development Academia-Industry Conference, the Workshop on Enhancing E-commerce and Digital Economy Capacities of Women Entrepreneurs from Developing Countries, and the Digital Empowerment Training Program for Foreign Female Merchants were selected for the exhibition of "China’s Progress in Digital and Intelligent Empowerment for Women and Girls". These programs fully demonstrated Zhejiang's practical achievements in digital development and were prominently highlighted by the All-China Women's Federation(ACWF) to foreign delegations.

Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage(ICH) pieces such as Dongyang Wood Carving Chang’e Flying to the Moon and Zhu Bingren's Copper Sculpture Golden Divine Deer were featured at the ICH-themed exhibition, which interpret women's power and Eastern aesthetics through traditional craftsmanship, allowing the charm of Zhejiang's intangible cultural heritage to shine on the international stage.

The Whole-Region Child-Friendly City Construction project and the Mom's Memories Common Prosperity Market brand were included in the compilation of typical cases of the Meeting.

Off-Site Connections : Zhejiang as a Bridge to the World

Prior to the Meeting, Zhejiang was included in the first batch of ten pilot sites for the Global Exchange and Cooperation Center for Digital Empowerment of Women. The "Digital Trade and Women's Development" Academia-Industry Conference was held during the Fourth Global Digital Trade Expo, with the  launch of the Digital Empowerment Workstations for women's federations from the ten pilot provinces and municipalities under the Global Exchange and Cooperation Center for Digital Empowerment of Women. Furthermore, three sessions of the Digital Empowerment Training Program for Foreign Female Merchants were held in Yiwu, sharing Zhejiang's digital experience.

From October 15 to 18, a group of female officials attending the Meeting visited Zhejiang as participants of the Seminar for Women Politicians from Developing Countries. Through case studies and field visits, they gained insights into Zhejiang's developments and innovations in women's affairs.

Widespread Acclaim: All-Media Resonating

Zhejiang Daily published a feature article titled "Enabling Every 'Her' to Shine and Fulfill Her Dreams". Wu Hongmei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Zhejiang Provincial Women’s Federation, gave exclusive interviews to media outlets such as China Women Magazine and China Women's News on the sidelines of the Meeting, championing Zhejiang's practices in digitally empowering women's development.

Zhejiang-nominated foreign women, including Sude Buyukkafali and Andrea Steckel-Jiang, alongside the post-90s women entrepreneur Huang Binbin, were invited to convey their congratulations on the convening of the Meeting. Wan Ruixue , a post-90s Research Fellow from the Westlake University, was featured in reports as a representative of the  women in science and technology in the new era. Ant Group's "Cyber Mulan" Program received special promotion by the ACWF. Chen Lijun, a Yue Opera performer from Shaoxing and Xie Chunhua, a new-generation female farmer from Anji, were selected for the ACWF's "30 Years· Imprints" video series. A community of female writers from the China Internet Writers Village was included in pre-meeting publicity. Rural CEO Chen Yuqin was invited to participate in the "Her World, Her Dream" companion streaming of the Meeting.Together, these distinguished women paint a vivid collective portrait of Zhejiang women.

The shining presence of Zhejiang elements at the Meeting was more than a showcase of the fruitful achievements of the development of women's cause in the province, it opened up infinite possibilities for the future. At this new starting point, the Zhejiang Provincial Women's Federation will channel the spirit of the Meeting and continue to unite "Her Power", unleash "Her Potential", and empower every "Her" to flourish and achieve their dreams on a broader stage!
